WEIRD: Jesus in a Frying Pan!
Updated: 03/11 15:34 Salford, Lancaster, UKToby Elles, 22-year old bank cashier, was cooking a late night snack when he fell asleep. Miraculously he was woken up by alleged divine intervention to find his house full of smoke. He rushed to the burning pan and placed it under water. Next day while doing the washing, he saw the face of Jesus has been burned on the pan.
Bachelor Toby, who works for Halifax bank in Stockport, admits most of his friends are doubting Thomases at the story but insists it is true.
He said: "It’s a crying shame that no-one believes me! I went onto the internet and found other things that had Jesus on them, like pizza, but they were just outlines. Mine has eyes and a nose and everything.
"I’ve recently started going to church again so I’m glad I took part in the Shrove Tuesday tradition."

He now plans to hang the frying pan on the wall as a talking point.
Why do I think that I might soon find it on eBay? Call me a sceptic but I don't trust a banker (especially after the recent financial crisis) and a man in a suit holding a pan with Jesus burnt in side!
What do you think - real divine intervention and miracle or just the usual fraud by a banker?

WEIRD: Megan Mariah Barnes: Don't shave your privates while driving either!
Updated: 03/07 15:14 Florida Keys, Florida37-Year old Megan Mariah Barnes had to meet her boyfriend for a "special" visit but forgot to take care of the horrendous pubic hair around her privates. So, she decided - because she can't be late for the visit, she will shave them while driving. She asked her ex-husband Charles Judy, who was in the passenger seat, to hold the wheel while she would shave her pubes.Obviously, it didn't work as she rear-ended another car that was making a turn.
Barnes and Charles Judy were southbound in her Thunderbird at 11 a.m. when they slammed into the back of a 2006 Chevrolet pickup driven by David Schoff of Palm Bay. His passengers were a man and two women; the latter were treated for minor injuries at Lower Keys Medical Center, FHP spokesman Alex Annunziato said. Schoff had slowed to about 5 mph to make a turn when the Thunderbird hit him, traveling about 45 mph, which was within the speed limit, Dunick said. Barnes allegedly drove another half-mile, then switched seats with Judy, who allegedly claimed to be driving, Annunziato said. "She jumps in the back seat and he moves over," Dunick said. "It was like the old comedy bit, 'Who's on first?' " Burns on Judy's chest from the passenger-side airbag deploying belied their story, Dunick said. The airbag in the steering wheel did not deploy, he said. Interestingly, both Megan and her thunderbird were not supposed to be on the road. This story has too many questions here -
The day before the wreck, Barnes was convicted in an Upper Keys court of DUI with a prior and driving with a suspended license, said Monroe County Assistant State Attorney Colleen Dunne. Barnes was ordered to impound her car, and her driver's license was revoked for five years, after which time she must have a Breathalyzer ignition interlock device on any vehicle she drives, Dunne said. Barnes also was sentenced to nine months' probation.Source: keysnews.com
- Why was the ex-husband doing in the car? Assisting her to shave her pubic hair? Or take care of the car while she has sex with her boyfriend?
- Was the "boyfriend" so punctual, that he couldn't have taken the regular "bikini wax" delay?
- Was the boyfriend so special that he wouldn't have liked her unshaved?
I will scrape off the last question, especially after looking at the hair on her head.
Makes you wonder, was she trying to make an "urgent" appointment with a "customer" instead?

ARTS: Akoo Jeans Racy Billboard to Come Down
Updated: 03/03 17:30 Newark, New Jersey, USAAkoo Jeans racy billboard at Newark (New Jersey) downtown's busy intersection, is coming down. The billboard shows a back woman kneeling down in front of man with the jeans unbuckled. The woman looks like pulling the jeans off while facing the camera. It looks like either she is about to start or just ended oral sex on the guy. Check the billboard -
Mayor Cory A. Booker downplayed the racial angle and instead framed it as part of a general decline in standards.
"It's an issue of what are community standards and why are we consistently condoning language, images and other things that erode those standards," he said. "This billboard is not the only thing that we should be concerned with. It's a symptom of a deeper problem that we have to confront within our communities."
Source: www.msnbc.msn.com
The following statement was released from Akoo Jeans -
“THE AKOO brand has always aimed to inspire individualism and creativity. Our advertising campaign was not created to offend or insult anyone but to simply provoke dialogue and thought regarding male/female sexuality within urban culture. We hope that as more of the campaign is debuted, people will see the multifaceted personality of AKOO.”
Interestingly, not far from Newark in New York City, the following Calvin Klein Jeans billboard raised hardly any criticism -
Akoo jeans is owned by famous Rapper T.I.
Makes you wonder, is it really that bad or just getting the "expected" marketing controversy?

TECH: "Fish Boy" Song Sheng: Boy stuns Chinese Docs by developing fish-like scales
Updated: 03/01 18:50 ChinaFourteen month old Song Sheng, of Jinhu, eastern China, has a rare and severe genetic condition called Lamellar Ichthyosis, which causes his skin to peel off because a problem with his sweat glands as he is unable to cool himself down naturally. He was born without any pores, so his body cannot sweat to cool itself thus resulting in his skin peeling away in fish-like scales. His parents try to control his body temperature by laying him in baths of ice.
Song Dehui has been seeking help for his son's severe lamellar ichthyosis, an autosomal recessive disorder that strikes one in 600,000 people and lasts for life.
The boy's skin has no pores, meaning inner heat and sweat cannot be expelled.
"In the summer he has to lie on ice cubes to lower the body temperature, otherwise he'll have a high fever all the time," Song said.
The child's hands and feet are covered in skin described as being like tree bark, while his ears and lips are severely cracked.
The boy has no body hair and also lacks teeth and eyebrows.
Song has taken his boy to dozens of hospitals but none can cure the disease.

He is called "Fish boy" by locals.

But doctors have told the family there is still no known cure for the genetic condition, known as Lamellar ichthyosis.

WORLD: Big Rat causes cancelation of London bound Air Canada flight at Ottawa
Updated: 02/28 16:58 Ottawa, CanadaAir Canada flight AC888 (Boeing 767) was ready to take off at Ottawa’s Macdonald-Cartier international airport, when a passenger saw a big rat in an overhead locker. The rat was big enough that the pilot ordered all 205 passengers off the plane so that pest control team could catch the rat.
Despite extensive search, no rat was found and the fight was canceled resulting in passengers staying overnight at the airport.
"But after about 30 minutes the captain walked up to the gate and shook his head. Then they announced that the flight was cancelled." Source: www.thesun.co.uk
Air Canada made the following statement - "An aircraft was taken out of service after a rodent was found on board before a flight."

The delay caused a lot of passengers a lot of problems.
Richard Jones, 25, from London, had been due to collect his girlfriend Victoria from Heathrow yesterday at 10am.
He said: "She called to say that they had boarded the plane and the doors were closed when the captain came on the PA system.
"He said: ‘We’ve got bad news. A giant rat has been seen in the overhead lockers and I need everyone to get off while we try and find it’.
"Everyone disembarked and went back to the departure lounge to wait.
"But after about 30 minutes the captain walked up to the gate and shook his head. Then they announced that the flight was cancelled."
Source: www.telegraph.co.uk
Makes me wonder the following -
- What would have happened if Mr. Rat was seen during the middle of the flight? Would they scramble F-16s to counter the security breach?
- Couldn't these passengers fly with one rat?
- Cancellation for a rat, does it make sense?

SPORTS: Tony Kornheiser Suspension: Is Hannah Storm dressing style really bad?
Updated: 02/25 22:21 USAESPN's Tony Kornheiser was recently suspended for 2 weeks for making making inappropriate remarks about Sportscenter host Hannah Storm's dressing style on his radio program "Pardon the Interruption (PTI)".
His comment - "Hannah Storm in a horrifying, horrifying outfit today. She's got on red go-go boots and a catholic school plaid skirt ... way too short for somebody in her 40s or maybe early 50s by now ... She's got on her typically very, very tight shirt. She looks like she has sausage casing wrapping around her upper body ... I know she's very good, and I'm not supposed to be critical of ESPN people, so I won't ... but Hannah Storm ... come on now! Stop! What are you doing? ... She's what I would call a Holden Caulfield fantasy at this point."
Later on he came back and made the following apology - "I apologize, unequivocally ... I'm a sarcastic, subversive guy ... I'm a troll, look at me. I have no right to insult what anybody looks like or what anybody wears. That, I think, should go without saying."
There are lot of us who think that Hannah Storm is really hot with her tight tops and short skirts. Tony, you should be ashamed of your comments. Look at the pictures below and tell me that if Tony was right or wrong?
OK, maybe the plaid skirt and the red boots were way too much, so Tony sorry for the earlier rant!

TECH: Study: Looking at sexy women gives the same high as alcohol or drugs
Updated: 02/24 19:46Steven M. Platek of Georgia Gwinnett College and Devendra Singh of University of Texas at Austin have found out that "Optimal Waist-to-Hip Ratios in Women Activate Neural Reward Centers in Men" or in layman terms, sexy hot woman can cause the same affect as alcohol.
The study might be a common knowledge or common sense for men, but something completely new for women. Please note, this study is a great argument when you are caught ogling at a sexy woman by your spouse or girlfriend.
The Study
Brains of 14 men with the average age of 25 were scanned using MRI machines while they were asked to make attractiveness ratings to randomly and individually presented pictures of seven naked women (One picture from the rear and one from an oblique rear position) -
- One before cosmetic surgery
- One after cosmetic surgery that improved the waist to hip ratio by redistributing fat from their waists to the hips. The overall weight was kept constant.
Check the MRI Scan results -
Our observed activation patterns in the brain suggest that female body configuration represents a salient stimulus to men and that optimal female body configurations activate areas of men's brains that are associated with reward processing and appetitive behaviors. This activation may represent the proximate neural mechanism of attraction to females that express curvaceous body types and also further account for cross-cultural findings showing that optimal WHR (~.7) as being consistently rated as attractive. Lastly, this finding may extend our understanding of some men's proclivity to develop a preoccupation with stimuli depicting optimally designed women (e.g., pornography). Interestingly, our findings did not demonstrate that BMI had a large effect on brain activation except in areas associated with simple visual evaluations of shape and size. This does not downplay the importance of BMI in evaluations of female attractiveness, but may suggest that BMI's role in these evaluations is less the product of evolved psychological mechanisms and more the part of culturally driven, or societal based norms and perceptions.Source: www.plosone.org

WEIRD: Man complains to cops about psychedelic hash that made him confuse girlfriend for a Dolphin
Updated: 02/22 21:24 Eslöv, SwedenWe all have been there - been duped by a street seller into buying the wrong thing. Nothing different for this 26-year old cannabis connoisseur in the provincial Skåne town of Eslöv in Sweden who had serious complaints with the quality of his hash. So, he did the best thing he could think of - walked into a police station to complaint about the quality, asking for a lump to be tested for traces of LSD.
The man thus suspects that his hash could have been laced with a psychedelic substance, such as LSD.
The man related that, as he sucked on his joint, his television began to talk to him and he came to the realisation that his girlfriend was in fact a dolphin.
The whole experience left the man feeling shaken and frightened, the newspaper reports.
Eslöv police told the newspaper that it was unclear if the source of the man's hash supply could face any charges relating to the quality of his product.
"It could possibly be classified as assault, if the hash is found to contain LSD," Mats G Odestål at Eslöv police told Skånskan.
Source: www.thelocal.se
The only thing he forgot was that hashish has been illegal in Sweden since 1930. Possession of a small amount (under 50 grammes) is considered a minor offence typically punishable with a fine, while dealing generally carries a prison sentence.

TECH: Please Rob Me: Website to search for empty houses
Updated: 02/18 17:26 WorldDangers of sharing information on social networking sites can result in serious problems and even home burglary when you are out on vacation/work and your house is empty. To show this Dutch Programmers Boy Van Amstel, Frank Groeneveld and Barry Borsboom developed a site called Please Rob Me (pleaserobme.com) that lets you search for empty houses. The site took them just 4 hours to develop.
"It started with me and a friend looking at our Twitter feeds and seeing more and more Foursquare posts," said Boy Van Amstel, one of PleaseRobMe's developers.
"People were checking in at their house, or their girlfriend's or friend's house, and sharing the address - I don't think they were aware of how much they were sharing."
Mr Van Amstel, Frank Groeneveld and Barry Borsboom realised that not only were people sharing detailed location information about themselves and their friends, they were also by default broadcasting when they were away from their own home.
"It's basically a Twitter search - nothing new," said Mr Van Amstel. "Anyone who can do HTML and javascript can do this. You could almost laugh at how easy it is."
He said that the site would remain live but stressed it was not created to encourage crime.
"The website is not a tool for burglary," he said. "The point we're getting at is that not long ago it was questionable to share your full name on the internet. We've gone past that point by 1000 miles."
Mr Van Amstel added that in practice it would be "very difficult" to use the information on the website to carry out a burglary.
Charity Crimestoppers advises people to think carefully about the information they choose to share on the internet.
"We urge users of Twitter, Facebook or other social networks to stop and think before posting personal details online that could leave them vulnerable to crimes including burglary and identity theft," said a spokesperson.
"Details posted online are available for the world to see; you wouldn't hang a sign on your door saying you're out, so why would you post it online?"Source: BBC
The intention of the site is to show the dangers of social networking but it can be well used by burglars to easily break into a house. That does make me wonder, how easy it is to get all that information.
Hey, do you have a Twitter account? Have you ever noticed those messages in which people tell you where they are? Pretty annoying, eh. Well, they're actually also potentially pretty dangerous. We're about to tell you why.
Don't get us wrong, we love the whole location-aware thing. The information is very interesting and can be used to create some pretty awesome applications. However, the way in which people are stimulated to participate in sharing this information, is less awesome. Services like Foresquare allow you to fulfill some primeval urge to colonize the planet. A part of that is letting everyone know you own that specific spot. You get to tell where you are and if you're there first, it's yours. O, and of course there's badges..
Foursquare
The danger is publicly telling people where you are. This is because it leaves one place you're definitely not... home. So here we are; on one end we're leaving lights on when we're going on a holiday, and on the other we're telling everybody on the internet we're not home. It gets even worse if you have "friends" who want to colonize your house. That means they have to enter your address, to tell everyone where they are. Your address.. on the internet.. Now you know what to do when people reach for their phone as soon as they enter your home. That's right, slap them across the face.
The goal of this website is to raise some awareness on this issue and have people think about how they use services like Foursquare, Brightkite, Google Buzz etc. Because all this site is, is a dressed up Twitter search page. Everybody can get this information.
Source: pleaserobme.com
I went through some of my facebook and twitter accounts, I could easily figure out what some of my friends were doing.
Friend 1 - Is in Europe on vacation!
Friend 2 - Is at work and is wondering if she shut down the garage door or not!
Friend 3 - Is sick, so is sleeping on couch using a sleep induced by Nyquil
Friend 4 - Is awaiting their honeymoon that starts on March 15th 2010.
Try doing the same and check!
There is so much information that can be easily used to do whatever they can. Makes you wonder, do you really know your friends on these sites that well?
Social networking sites, thou are truly dangerous and evil!

WORLD: Anjool Maldé: Why did London's successful stockbroker jump to his death from a restaurant roof?
Updated: 02/17 00:17 London, England25-Year old Londoner Anjool Maldé had everything. The Oxford graduate was on his way to become the youngest vice-president at Deutsche Bank, was a "master networker", ran a successful side business organising parties for well-heeled young professionals (alphaparties.com) and had just bought a new £300,000 penthouse apartment he had bought in Marbella.
He was 2 days away from his 25th birthday, on July 5th last year, he got a glass of champagne at a Central London restaurant Coq D'Argent and next thing you know, he jumped off the roof terrace on the eighth-storey roof.
So, what made him jump?
It seems like he jumped out of ignominity that he was accused of posting on a careers website purporting to be from one of bank's clients, which read:
"I'm hot, I'm hot."
The message was traced back to his work computer's IP address.
But the City of London Coroner's Court heard that the Friday before his death he had been summoned to a meeting with senior executives from Deutsche Bank.
The 24-year-old was told he was being investigated over an allegation he posted a prank comment on a financial careers website pretending to be somebody else. He was asked to leave the office while his computers were examined and told not to return until further notice. It was the possible "ignominy" of this which could have caused him to commit suicide, the coroner said.Source: Guardian
He denied being responsible for the message and said "other people had it in for him" and "people delighted in bringing him down because he was so successful", said Deutsche Bank executive Keith Leno.
The GMail account used to post the message sent a message to bank's client to drop the case.
Bank security chief Daniel Earp said the Google email account which sent the spoof message also sent emails to the bank client involved, offering to pay £500 to charity to 'make the matter go away' and saying the sender was 'feeling suicidal'.
But Mr Malde denied involvement and insisted: 'I'm not suicidal.'
Mr Malde's friend Irra Khirivskaya, a model, said they had attended a party the night before his death, but he was very withdrawn and they left early.
'She said Mr Malde told her he had faced a disciplinary meeting at work but said 'he didn't much care about being in the bank'.
Miss Khirivskaya said: 'His actions can't be explained as the actions of the Jools I know. He was someone who temporarily lost his wits.'
But she said of his death: 'The efficiency of his actions, their style and precision, were all very typical of Anjool.'
Source: www.dailymail.co.uk
The whole thing was recorded on restaurant's CCTV which showed him ordering a champagne glass, then going out onto the restaurant's empty roof terrace and then jumped to his death.
His mother, Naina, sobbed as a police officer described CCTV footage from the Coq d'Argent, which showed her only child enter the restaurant just after midday the day he died. Detective Inspector Edelle Michaels said the tape showed Maldé buy a glass of champagne before going out onto the restaurant's empty roof terrace.
He climbed over a fence and stood for a minute, glass in hand, looking out over the Bank of England and the street below. The officer demonstrated how Maldé threw back his arms and leant forward until he fell off the side of the building. A paramedic arrived within five minutes but the young stockbroker was already dead.
Source: Guardian
It is quite possible that someone who didn't like him used his work computer or even used his IP address to post the comment. Being young and successful, he couldn't take the shame.
It doesn't matter if he posted the comment or not, the outcome was horrible. I wish that he would have dealt with the problem in a better way!
